This darling little flowering plant is an annual in colder climates and a perennial in warmer regions. California Poppy shows up early in the season, typically in April, and blooms straight through into August. The blooms resemble delicate paper flowers, with linen white petals and a bright yellow center. If planted in well drained soil, California Poppies will thrive with very little water; they are very drought tolerant. This plant grows from 1 to 1.5 feet tall and are perfect for backdrops, unstructured English style gardens and meadow patches.
