The flowers make excellent cut blooms in flower arrangements, lasting as long as seven days in a vase. Plant Zinnia Luminosa seeds outdoors after the last frost of the spring is over. The plants need full sunlight and soil with good drainage. The soil temperature should be about 75 degrees for optimal germination. Once the seeds have been planted, germination takes place within two weeks. Once the plants have emerged, water them from the ground rather than from overhead to keep them healthy. Seeds are packaged and germination tested for the current year.
